The official language of the conference is English and no translation is offered.

Health and Insurance:

Participants are requested to arrange their own personal travel and health insurance. The Organising Committee assumes no responsibility whatsoever for damage or injury to persons or property during the workshop.

Currency and Money Exchange:

The currency in Perth is Australian Dollars. Only Australian Dollar is acceptable at regular stores and restaurants. You can purchase AUD$ at foreign exchange banks and other authorised money exchangers. Major credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shops. Using traveler’s checks is not common in Australia. Tips are  necessary resturants and bars in Australia.

Electricity Supply:

Electricity is supplied at 220 volts A/C, 50 Hz cycle.


The climate is mild and the temperature during the conference is between 19ºC and 29ºC.

Perth, capital of Western Australia, sits where the Swan River meets the southwest coast. Sandy beaches line its suburbs, and the huge, riverside Kings Park and Botanic Garden on Mt. Eliza offer sweeping views of the city. The Perth Cultural Centre houses the state ballet and opera companies, and occupies its own central precinct, including a theatre, art galleries and the Western Australian Museum.

Perth Accommodation:
There is a wide variety of accommodation to choose from within Western Australia. The majority of Perth's accommodation can be found within the Central Business District (CBD), the Port of Fremantle, and the Sunset Coast. Visitors should ensure that they book in advance during the local summer season, which runs from December to March. Due to Perth's fantastic climate and wonderful beaches, accommodation is often booked out well in advance.
Within the CBD you will find a large number of 4 and 5 star hotels and self-contained apartments. The CBD is an excellent base for your stay in Perth, with business facilities, fabulous shopping, theatres and concert venues, access to the nearby casino, a lively nightlife and mouth watering restaurants in Northbridge.
A twenty minute drive south of the city will take you to Perth's harbour city, where you can experience the cosmopolitan atmosphere and splendour of the Port of Fremantle The historic port has a its own unique style of accommodation including many turn of the century terrace houses used as Bed and Breakfast accommodation.
The Sunset Coast is for sun and beach lovers. The Sunset Coast stretches from Fremantle to Hillary's Boat Harbour. The pristine white sandy beaches of our coast are well renowned, and Perth has more days of sunshine than any other state capital in Australia. Accommodation options are numerous, with self-contained apartments overlooking the ocean, and many hotels, ranging from budget to 4 star. The coast is also a popular area for backpackers and caravaners.
Visitors may want/require long term accommodation to plan for an extended stay in Perth. There are associations which can help organise this type of accommodation.

You must have a valid passport and a visa to enter Australia. Most European, U.S.and some Asian  passport holders traveling to Australia for tourism or business purposes for less than 90 days can obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA), for other nationality we advise you to start application process now. The processing period for visa insurance usually takes about 5~7days. However, depending on the countries you live, it may take longer.

Smart Vision International (SVI) is the convener of an on-going suite of International Road Safety Conferences – the Road Safety International series and New Urbanism and Smart Transport International series.

Smart Vision International with the aim for a future direction with global trends in sustainability, besides exploring opportunities with host countries for the SVI Global Conferences, anticipate to be held in 2015, 2016 and 2017 respectively.

These conferences are designed to assist in disseminating up-to-the-minute research, concepts and ideas to road safety professionals. Of particular interest to the conference conveners is the ability of these conferences to provide professionals in the developing world with direct access to world renowned road safety practitioners with a view to circumventing the time lag in reading journals and the like. The face-time provided at these conferences facilitates opportunities for candid and direct responses to the essential questions that would otherwise go unanswered.

Additionally, this direct contact provides increased networking opportunities to ensure that road safety professionals from all countries have the broadest possible base of information and the ability to simply email or phone an expert when they need advice.

Experience has indicated that these conferences have the ability to provide significant legacies for the host country in terms of reduced road crash trauma, improved road safety through the application of initiatives discussed at the conference and the development of a valuable relationship with Smart Vision International (SVI) who can facilitate additional, follow-on workshops and seminars.

In considering the influence of the conference it is essential to consider both the professional development and networking opportunities that it creates, and, the longer-term legacies that it can contribute to for the country as a whole.

Smart Vision International (SVI)

Smart Vision International (SVI) was established in 2001 as a specialist strategic business consultancy. With expertise including business development, road safety, land use & transportation planning, project management and business relationship mentoring; Smart Vision soon found itself uniquely positioned to develop and convene international road safety and land use/transport planning conferences, seminars and workshops.
Since that time SVI has convened 6 international conferences and various workshops/seminars. These events have included:
